Lungfish Architects are thrilled to announce that recently completed project, Hackwood Primary Academy, has been shortlisted for the RICS Social Impact 2020 (East Midlands) Awards.
Launched in October 2019, the awards recognise the positive and transformational contribution that the built environment has on people’s lives across the UK. Hackwood Primary Academy is a one form-entry primary school that offers 210 pupil places to a brand new and growing community in Derby. The project was procured through the Scape Venture framework and delivered by Morgan Sindall, with consultancy services provided by Perfect Circle through the Scape Built Environment Consultancy Services framework on behalf of Derby City Council. The brightly coloured modular school is designed from 42 modules and transformed from foundation stage to a building in just seven days. Completed in August 2019, just nine months after breaking ground, Hackwood Academy showcases the efficiency and time saving that modular and offsite construction techniques can bring to projects.
