Committed to Sustainable Design through Carbon Literacy
Lungfish Architects is a design-led, award-winning architecture and interior design practice. We solve problems through architecture in an honest, open-minded way, delivering affordable, buildable, design-led solutions. Architecture creates a physical legacy, and it’s our mission to advocate zero-carbon design and strive for sustainable architecture solutions in the built environment.
Before Carbon Literacy
Sustainability has always been a core focus at Lungfish Architects. We work as a team to integrate whole-life carbon considerations into our design process and consistently recommend low-carbon materials and construction methods to support our clients' sustainability goals.
Through our ongoing learning of carbon and the impact we all have, we recognised the need to do more, which led us to embrace Carbon Literacy.
During Carbon Literacy
With sustainability being important to us, we partnered with the Carbon Literacy trust in Spring 2024 to train all our staff through their course. We’re proud to share that 100% of our team is now carbon literacy certified.
Our team gained valuable insights during this course and felt motivated to explore ideas to strengthen personal and collective goals to reduce our carbon footprint.
We want to make a real difference and this starts with being transparent and accountable for our carbon contributions. This course has helped our team discover where we're currently succeeding and where we can improve - we're looking forward to making changes that matter. - PLACEHOLDER QUOTE"

After Carbon Literacy
Since the training, our team has actively reduced their carbon footprint by car sharing and cycling. It's inspiring to see everyone come together to make meaningful changes. Our team also share advice on different ways to lower personal carbon footprint. Sustainability was also chosen as one of our organisational values through a staff engagement workshop at our staff conference in May 2024.
Our future plans include encouraging our clients to join us in making a difference. We're looking forward to collaborating with more organisations ready to explore whole-life carbon considerations and low-carbon materials.
