Nottingham CommunityHousing Association
To accommodate organisational growth, Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) had previously purchased additional buildings as office space across Nottingham. No longer fit-for-purpose, nor suiting modern flexible and agile working arrangements, a new sustainable and contemporary home for employees was required bringing everyone together “under one roof”.
Inheriting the project, Lungfish Architects were appointed to provide interior design services and tasked with rationalising the original design intention, interrogating the brief and delivering the interior scheme through to completion.
The project consists of extensive renovations to an existing single-storey building, and a two-storey new build extension. The new office building will form the heart of a wider residential community development in Clifton and a new home for NCHA. The extension enables a wider space for the building's purpose and positively impacts both its people and the surrounding community.

Solution
Employing over 1,200 people, the new NCHA offices are home to various bookable workspaces, meeting spaces, a 24-hour call centre, a training facility and a property services store reflecting NCHA’s values and workplace strategies, we’ve provided agile environments that allow employees to choose their environment for various tasks - hot desking, team touchdown points, small to large meeting rooms, informal meeting spaces, training rooms, café and an atrium.
NCHA’s branding is infused into the design through the interior’s material and colour selection of finishes and furniture. We focused on creating human-centric environments by incorporating biophilic design principles, such as harnessing natural light, using natural tones and finishes, and incorporating planting to break up the myriad of working spaces.
